What's New On Ithaca Greece
August 2024
Thursday 1st - Below - Lefki from the back road that few people travel or even know about.
Above and Below - Kioni.
Above - I believe that everyone that has ever traveled to Ithaca will have taken this exact shot of Vathy bay from the road between Anoghi and Kathara.
Below - When you go off the beaten track you'll often come across wild fruit trees such as this pear tree.
Saturday 3rd - There's not much to say. It's Summer, it's August, most visitors to Ithaca are at the beach during the day and enjoying sea breezes around the baysides, north to south, in the evenings.
Tuesday 6th - Last night was the first night of the Stavros festival. Pics to come later. Meanwhile, lots of yachts in all the bays, sometimes it's hard to see past them. The flotillas are gone on the weekends, making it much quieter around the island, but come Monday, the yachts start sailing in again with a vengeance.

Thursday 8th - While there is so much activity on the island, you may be surprised that there are still places where you can find peace and quiet away from tourism despite Ithaca being one of the smallest islands in Greece.

High Season on Ithaca Greece
Thursday 1st
We are now deep into the Summer Season. Lots of visitors to the island again this year, especially those coming in from the sea.

Saturday 3rd
Above - Music Festival in Vathy at the Garden Theatre of the high school on the 7th and 8th August. Starts at 9.30 pm and entrance is FREE!! Now you have no excuse not to go.
Tuesday 6th - Stavros Panighiri went off with a bang last night. Pics to come soon. Another session tonight on this 2 day festival in the north of Ithaca greece.
Thursday 8th - Don't forget to look at the notice boards and the Calendar for events happening over this month. Below - Music Festival in Vathy. If you missed the first night, you still have tonight to head along to the Vathy High School Garden Theatre. Entrance is free..
