Thursday 18th - It's Summer. It's hot. What's not to like about blue skies and sunshine, interesting people, great variety of food, Greek yoghurt and German beer? Below - Spavento Cafe Bar, a Kioni institution.
Above - Texnima is the jewelry shop in Kioni which inhabits one of the oldest buildings on the island.
Below - Sirenes Restaurant in Vathy. It's really no wonder people come to Ithaca again and again. Locals genuinely enjoy getting to know the visitors to the island and making them feel at home.
Saturday 20th - It's pretty hot and again, beaches are the best place to be.
Saturday 20th - It's a hot summer on Ithaca, Greece, and the Exoghi Panighiri went exceptionally well despite the heat. The festival saw a fantastic turnout, with crowds of people enjoying the lively atmosphere, delicious food, and vibrant music. It was heartwarming to see so many young people actively participating, ensuring the continuation of this beloved tradition.

Thursday 25th - Edging to the end of July already with hot, hot, hot weather continuing without an end in sight. Well, it is summer afterall.
Tuesday 30th - The heatwave continues across Greece. Air-conditioning units working overtime and that power meter ticking over triple time. The heat mist hovers over the hillsides.
Below - Kathara Monastry. Usually you'll find the temperatures a little cooler up there on the mountain, but not at the moment.

Summer on Ithaca Greece
Thursday 18th
Lots of yachts coming and going, especially in Kioni and Vathy. The sea traffic sometimes feels like it gets beyond the island's capability to handle it, but somehow Ithaca manages.
Saturday 20th - The water is as warm as a tepid bath. Sometimes an ice cold stream flows from the mountain down into the sea.
Saturday 20th - From the village of Exoghi, the breathtaking view of the turquoise sea at Afales is simply mesmerizing. The crystal-clear waters, framed by rugged cliffs and lush greenery, create a stunning panorama that captivates every visitor. The vibrant hues of the sea contrast beautifully with the serene, blue sky, making Afales a true gem of Ithaca, Greece. As the sun sets, the tranquil waters glisten, adding to the enchanting atmosphere of this idyllic island location.

Thursday 25th - Below - Kioni Bayside. You'd never believe there was any conflict over chairs when looking down on this idealic village by the sea!
Tuesday 30th - A second away from another month ticking by with August, the biggest month of all Summer Seasons, knocking on the door.
