What's New On Ithaca Greece
December 2022
Wednesday 14th - We've had some wild and fierce weather this past week. Lots of wind, rain, dark eerie skies. The dark skies continue.
Saturday 17th - Dark days for most of the past couple of weeks, but there's finally a break. While some are under snow, temperatures here are actually quite mild for this time of year.
Sunday 18th - Seems like, for today at least, we're having an Indian Summer with temps up to 21C.
Above - A flock of birds above Vathy bay.
Tuesday 20th - Christmas is fast approaching now and the temperatures are dropping just in time for the holiday season. A few festive things happening at this time of the year.
Above - A Christmas concert at the cinema in support of Ukraine.
Saturday 24th - Typical winter weather, chilly in time for a Christmas infront of a fire. Wishing everyone a Happy and Safe Christmas/Holiday period. Have fun and enjoy your loved ones and families.
Tuesday 27th - Some beautiful weather over Christmas. Hope everyone had a loving, wonderful and healthy break. Below - Ithaca's stunning capital of Vathy with it's natural harbour.
Above - A clear view of our big sister island, Kefalonia. Winter affords such views and clarity. Below - Nightlights in Vathy.
Friday 30th - A breath away from another month and another year. We are living in the future, let's make sure it's one we all feel happy and comfortable in. Even Ithaca, where change comes slowly is catching up to 2023. Happy New Year everyone. Be safe, healthy and happy.

Winter on Ithaca Greece
Wednesday 14th
Not much to report. It's not too cold, but it is grey.
I lost my work hd. Devastating, frustrating and behind in everything. If you're a client/friend or ithacagreece supporter and visitor, I ask for your patience while I get myself up and running again. Currently trying to do big things on a little laptop, and if you know me, my eyes hate little things. 3 days of retrieving data so luckily i haven't lost any important documentations.
Saturday 17th - Christmas is in the air, the decorations are up and the lights are on.
Sunday 18th - Christmas decorations in Vathy village square.
Tuesday 20th - It might be quiet in the streets, but the cheer of Christmas is in the air. There is also sadness, as Ithaca loses one of the kindest souls, I've personally every known. Omiros Kostopoulos. In my first weeks of being on Ithaca, Omiros held out his hand in friendship and the connection, albeit silent, was always there. He will be missed by Ithaca, his talent, his kindness, his understanding.
Saturday 24th - Ithaca wishes the world a Happy and Safe Christmas/Holiday season. Have fun and eat to your hearts content.
Tuesday 27th - The Public holidays are over and it's back to business.
Above - Traditionally, Greece decorates boats not trees and New Year more than Christmas, but as western civilization and it's traditions cover more and more of the world, old cultural traditions become watered down before they eventually disappear.
Friday 30th - If you blink 2022 will be over so make the most of every minute before minutes turn into years and you wonder where the time has gone. Wishing everyone a very happy, healthy and prosperous (in all the really important things) New Year.
