What's New On Ithaca Greece
October 2021
Monday 18th
Let's hope for better days ahead. Vathy and the south of Ithaca have been traumatized after the rainfall that flooded many of the homes and businesses on the bayside.
Tuesday 19th - Vathy is getting back to some sort of order, but some people have lost an awful lot through flooding.
Friday 22nd - After some blue skies again, apparently more storms due over the weekend. Let's hope there isn't as much rainfall as last week.
Sunday 24th - One day clear, next day rainy. Strange October weather, but kind of fitting for strange times generally. As we head toward the end of October, there are more goats than people walking around in the villages. The seaside however, still has quite a few yachts sailing in.
Tuesday 26th - Greece has the upcoming 28th October Parade for Oxi Day and Ithaca will also be doing it this year, both in Stavros and Vathy.

Thursday 28th - Today is Oxi Day around Greece. We'll head down to Vathy to see what we can see of the parade.
Friday 29th - Yesterday Ithaca celebrated Oxi Day with a church service and parade through Vathy main street. A great weather day with lots of people coming out to enjoy the sunshine and this semblence of normal. Click Here or on photograph below for more pics of Oxi Day Parade.
