What's New On Ithaca Greece
February 2021
Sunday 14th
It feels like winter has come very late to Ithaca and to Greece in general, but this week sees the end of the milder temps with forecast lows that may even bring snow. We'll see. Below - A distant view to Exoghi from Lahos.
Tuesday 16th - While in Athens the snow is coming down, the bad weather seems to have passed on Ithaca. A bit of snow in Anoghi that melted away quite quickly and snow on the distant mainland mountains was as close we we got to the big freeze this week. We even have some early signs of Spring.

Saturday 20th - Today Ithaca, with 3 cases, goes into the RED zone lockdown, the most severe lockdown in Greece, and joins the rest of the country. There seems to be no illness so far, just cases, something to be expected since testing has increased on the island.
Tuesday 23rd - The road at Aetos is still not passable, but news is that they will make a detour. Don't quite understand why they can't fix it with the money that the detour would be paying for, but I guess they have their reasons. More cases, more quarantines and with rapid test kits coming to Ithaca, no doubt there will be many more cases, but will there be illness? We'll have to wait and see. There are definitely vulnerable people on the island, not just to this virus, but any virus.
Wednesday 24th - Quite a few professionals and locals generally, are now under quarantine so not much going on, on the island.
