What's New On Ithaca Greece
June 2019
Monday 23rd
Our feature pic for page 4 is a scene from Atokos, the little island always in view from so many vantage points on Ithaca. It's unihabited and therefore has some pristine views and clear waters.
Above - Koxyli restaurant in Vathy has a new building on the bayside. It's looking fabulous and now also has an increased bayside eating area to go along with it. The previous building only 2 doors down is still Koxyli too. It's all a matter of more room to sit and enjoy the food.
Above - The view of Frikes yachters see when coming into Ithaca.
Monday 24th - Below - Genia Vlass is on Ithaca with her son Petro and his partner Nick after many years absence. Genia is treasurer for the Ithacan Philanthropic Society of Melbourne Australia.
Below - Polis Bay.
Thursday 27th - It's hot hot hot
Saturday 29th - I never thought I'd say, come to Greece, where a cooler wind blows. With temps in France over 45 C respite can be found on ithaca with a pleasant 32C.
Sunday 30th - We're now deep into the 2019 Summer Season.
Please support NO OIL DRILLING in the Ionian. Read what you can about it to make up your own minds, but common sense will tell you it will wreck our pristine environment and make us vulnerable to more earthquakes. Here is one article:

Summer on Ithaca Greece
Monday 23rd
Already into the last week of June. Time is speeding by so let's get in as many pics as we can before the end of another summer month.
Monday 24th - Below - Lefki resident Kerry took the Odysseas junior football team to a great championship win last season. I believe Kerry is Ithaki's first female football coach, and what a great start to her initiation.

Sunday 30th - Summer means Salamander time. Everything is about elections in Greece right now. Not much else in the news, not much else on people's minds, well apart from summer fun in the sun at the beach and at the cafes at night where it's easy to ignore the pressing issues of our time. 'Yes, let's have elections in high summer when everyone is so distracted we can get away with anything.'
