Thursday 17th - Beautifully sunny, blue sky days again. What more can you wish for. It's Winter on Ithaca perfect.

Tuesday 22nd - There's not much to tell these days. Ithaca is very quiet, sometimes sunny, sometimes stormy, always beautiful.

Thursday 24th - Although rainy weather can be frustrating when it goes on for too long, but on Ithaca the silver lining is the dramatic sky that envelopes the island when the storm passes.

Sunday 27th - Sunny and quite a bit warmer today, but it's been quite a cold winter so far. Wet and cold. Sunshine is so very welcomed at this stage.

Wednesday 30th - Work is currently being conducted in Vathy, ready for this year's summer season, putting electricity and water along the docking areas for yachts. That will be a plus for yachts mooring in Ithaki's capital.

In other news, next month, Alpha Bank is closing it's branch on Ithaca. A sad state of affairs for all Alpha Bank customers. Hopefully they'll leave a ATM. Another sad state of affairs is that it's been pretty much raining since New Year.

Above - NO TO DRILLING FOR OIL AND GAS IN THE IONIAN. HEAD TO KAMPANAS SQUARE IN ARGOSTOLI BETWEEN 10AM AND 3PM TO SIGN THE PETITION IN OPPOSITION TO THIS PROPOSAL. THIS WOULD BE DEVASTING NOT ONLY TO THE IONIAN BUT TO GREECE IN GENERAL. ALL WE HAVE LEFT IS TOURISM, IF THAT TOO IS TAKEN AWAY AS HAS LOCAL INDUSTRY AND HOME PRODUCTIONS, THEN WHERE WILL GREECE BE LEFT? iT CAN'T JUST ALL BE DETERMINED BY MONEY. IT'S A SHORT SIGHTED SOLUTION. EFFORTS SHOULD BE PUT INTO SUSTAINABLE ENERGY, NOT THIS OUTDATED AND PULLUTING ENERGY THAT THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS IS IN SHORT SUPPLY AND PULLUTES THE PLANET LIKE NOTHING ELSE. DON'T EVEN GET US STARTED ON DRILLING IN A SEISMIC AREA. WHETHER YOU ARE GREEK OR NOT, THIS SHOULD CONCERN ALL OF US.

Sunday 27th

Word is that Andreas Kalvos ferry from the Ionian Group has been tested and has past it's inspection. We should see Ithaca on their timetable to Patras again any time now.
