Clean Monday on Ithaca Greece. Kathara Deftera 2019

It was a shame Clean Monday this year was a bit dreary and overcast weather-wise, but that didn't stop the locals from enjoying this non-carnivorous celebration on Ithaca Greece to mark the beginning of Lent for Greek Easter.

The day started in the mountain village of Anoghi propped beneath the peak of Nyrito, the traditional kite flying area, then onto Kioni to the old school building and finally to 'live' music in Perahori in the south of the island where the dance circle took center stage.
